A message from the Founder;
President/CEO Robin Kuchenbecker:
Hello everyone,
I would like to give a bit of a back story, so you all know where we got our start.
My now ex-husband, got hurt at work in October of 2020. Well, we were just BARELY starting to get all the credit cards paid off and starting to be able to live without worrying about how we were going to pay for food. We didn't qualify for anything. We were struggling while waiting for worker's compensation or unemployment to kick in. If we didn't live with my mom we would have probably lost our place to live. It was bad. Yet, we didn't qualify for anything.
There was no way I could afford to pay for child care and have someone to stay with Mike while he recovered. I was able to work remotely for quite a while. But I eventually had to go back.
It was during these moments that I realized, there is no help for the "middle class". We were able to go to food banks but that was pretty much it. So, I decided I wanted to start a nonprofit to help people in the same type of situations as us.
So many of us live paycheck to paycheck and yet have no where to turn in case of emergency.
Well, now you do.
